NTPC Farakka Sports Council hosted a thrilling T10 cricket tournament for employees followed by a special match between HOP XI and GM O&M – XI teams on July 16, 2023.

In the T10 cricket tournament, three employee teams, Masterminds, Dream Crushers and Rising Stars, were formed. After a series of compelling matches, Teams Masterminds and Rising Stars reached the final. In the thrilling T10 cricket final, the Rising Stars secured a 5-wicket victory over the Masterminds, chasing down their target of 51 runs with 51/5 in 9.4 overs against Masterminds' 50/6 in 10 overs.

In addition to the employee tournament, a VIP match was held between HOP 11 and GM (O&M) 11. The VIP T10 match saw GM (O&M) 11 outplaying HOP11 by 7 runs, scoring 58/5 versus HOP11's 51/4, thus taking home the match honours.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Shri Ramakanta Panda, HOP Farakka; Smt. Niva Panda, President ULC; Shri Bijay Manjul, GM (O&M); Shri Satheesh S, GM (BE & EMG); Shri NK Sharma GM (Operation); Shri PV Kameswara Rao, GM (Maintenance); Shri Joytosh Kumar Dey, GM (FM); Shri SS Rao, GM (ADM & AUD); Shri Alok Kumar Ranbir, HOHR; other HODs, senior members of ULC, representatives of Unions and other NTPC employees & their family members.

The event witnessed a display of sportsmanship, camaraderie and healthy competition, culminating in a fun-filled day of cricket.
